CZUŁOŚĆ | TENDERNESS

Choreographed ritual of love

by Vala, Lamella, Kraków Art House

friends & lovers

Vala choreographed a love ritual titled "czułość | tenderness” and invited guest artists to share their talents and affection in order to provide art for the guests of the event "Valantynki - tanz mit Vala. Support the Eros".

Vala offered the space of her home for art making and community ritual. She believes that ritual can provide space for people to come together in the process of art making in order to challenge, support and question their existence. The series of performances were affectionately contributed by Maque Pereyra, Śominika Dniegocka, Pauline Peyen, Agata Siniarska, Maja Chiara Faber, Monika Bąkowska, Adam Kovalcsik, Leona Jacewska aka Charlie, Spajder, Bartolomeo Koczenasz, Adam Gruba & Sesama, Stowarzyszenie Jeden Świat, and all friends & lovers who helped produce, host and safeguard the event. The space of the house shape-shifted for this occasion and offered space for performances, exhibition space for Vala's works "poetic choreography of soft ressistance", installation "crystal ancestors", tarot reading room, vagina room for love making and cuddle room.

Here is Vala's calling for Valentine's Day:

Vala is affectionately calling you to Kraków to join the gathering in the name of love, affection and pleasures. Valentine’s day is an occasion to come together as friends, lovers and companions to celebrate the power of love and joy in the act of art making in mutually shared space and time. For this occasion Vala calls the art to its roots - the event will be a choreographed community ritual. Vala believes that ritual can provide space for people to come together in the process of art making in order to challenge, support and question their existence. This gathering is also a tribute to female ancestors, femininity and queer love - the force of Eros/Shechina. Vala refers to their own family's history and connects with her beloved grandmother Walentyna (known as Wala), from whom she named herself Vala. Vala questions the private and public, and offers her own personal history, feelings, thoughts and corporality to the public - named as friends and companions. Vala offers the space for queer creativity and uncanny talents that will manifest themselves in pop-pup performances by invited guest artists, friends and lovers - dance, poetry, painting, dj-sets, videos, lip sync, storytelling, installations, food and whatever forms/mediums it needs to take. The line up of the artist will be disclosed shortly before the weekend. Spontaneous performances are also very welcome during the event itself. Vala encourages simplicity in the art making, recycling as producing and caring for each other in order to nourish, blossom and make art together in safe and loving environment. There will also be space for oral pleasures such as talking, whispering, kissing, sucking (cuddle room installation). Moreover Vala is reaching again to personal history - her bakers family heritage - the act of eating as another oral pleasure - there will be a sweet treat for the guests (the art of queer cuisine). If you are planning to attend the event feel very welcome to dress up, do make up and show up in your full grace and beauty. Otherwise there will be a Vala’s bueaty saloon open, where you can queer yourself up.
